- breach of trust - you can't share client names in a blog etc.

Many professionals actually avoid facebook - especially when privacy may be an issue. This does NOT preclude marketing online. There is a plethora of options available.
Your website - share news, alerts, checklists and worksheets
Your blog - case studies that do not identify the client can show your passion and expertise
Twitter - what you Tweet is what you are passionate about - community involvement, wowing a client, great employees
LinkedIN - connect with other professionals. As this is a B2B network it is a naturally starting point. Nurture your connections to your referral network by sharing business news, commenting on their status updates and referring those you highly respect.
